Can you hear a photograph ?

Can you hear a photograph? This may sound little odd for many. But a photographer who can probably ‘hear the light’ can make this happen. ‘Hearing the light’ is the phenomenon which occurs in the intuitive level when you can feel that the photographic image is right, that the moment has come to record it.

Many times the ‘thought process’ of a good photograph cannot be explained because it is the decision of a photographer; mostly based on his inner feelings to release the shutter. "Why did you prefer to release the shutter button of you camera at a particular point of time than another?" The answer to this question is almost very complex and some times you may not be able to explain it.

A good photograph gains an advantage depending on the time you actually press the shutter. You think to shoot a picture and the picture is taken...! You need to understand the subject emotionally to get it to speak in your pictures. This proves the true connection between the photographer and the subject. In other words , get connected emotionally to the subject you shoot. This results in fine pictures.

Yah, when your picture could speak, then it is possible to hear it. This picture was shot just immediately after the wedding, where the groom became too emotional. If you are capturing such expressions then, of course you can hear a picture.

Professional photographers must probably learn to speak through their pictures.
