I got this picture when I was shooting for a press advertisement for a baby product. We were planning a lot of concepts and properties to shoot a cute little baby and a young female model (mother and child). As you know few of them really worked out well and we were almost done for the pre lunch session. The nine month old baby was active through out the first two hours of photo session before lunch and became really tired and sleepy after that. We switched off all the lights and made him sleep on the bed in the shooting floor. He was fast asleep for about an hour. When I came back after lunch, I saw the child sleeping good….. I decided to do something which is not in our story board. I requested the female model to just get close to the baby silently and keep her face very close to the baby’s checks gently. As she was approaching the sleeping baby, the baby probably sensed some movement and opened his eyes in sleep. The half doze expression of the baby was just I didn’t really plan and the shot was well balanced with the close up of the female model, slightly out of focus.
Well, the client was exited about the shot when he saw it on my laptop. In fact he liked this unplanned shot more than anything else. May be when we work with infant children, the most unexpected shots have to be expected!
Shooting infants are not only exiting but also challenging whether you do it at home casually or in a professional studio. Get excited……shoot kids.

This is a real beauty
I have read all the blogs and really got excited today. I never wonder seeing this picture, because Raja Sir always capture the best with a RAJA TOUCH, and he is a master.
I proud to say, I learned the advanced photography from him (ambitions4 photography acadamy, Chennia). I remember, those shooting days..
The confidence gained from Raja Sir helped to do few photography assignments here in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Raja Sir, your blogs will be always an inspiration to us. All the best wishes!!!
a student.
